Audiovisual production with AI

Artificial intelligence in audiovisual production: adapt or be left behind

Artificial intelligence is no longer a promise. In fact, is a real tool that is transforming the way campaigns are created, videos are produced, and visual narratives are built.

For years, audiovisual production has been limited by very specific factors: locations, equipment, travel, casting, permits, shooting times... However, that's no longer the only way.

Nowadays, We are living with a new scenario.

One in which, Furthermore, it is possible to develop complete visual pieces without physical filming, without travelling, and without relying on complex logistics. And the most interesting, without renouncing the visual language that has always defined the industry.

From traditional production to hybrid production

Up until now, the value of a production company was measured, largely, for its execution capability: technical team, filming experience, access to locations, direction…

Nevertheless, that is still important, but it isn't enough anymore.

Artificial intelligence introduces a key shift: it displaces part of the process from execution to conceptualisation.

That is to say, it's no longer just those who roll best who win, but those who think best.

The case study: when there's no rehearsal... but there is a result

Recently, at Mad Media, we developed a fashion film for Stradivarius aimed at the Dutch market.

The challenge was clear: recreate the atmosphere of King's Day in Amsterdam without filming there.

In a traditional approach, this would have implied:

  • Equipment transfers
  • Permissions
  • High production costs
  • Complex logistical coordination

However, we decided to propose a different solution.

A production entirely based on artificial intelligence was developed:

  • Hyperrealistic digital model
  • Generated locations
  • Natural motion sequences
  • Product integration in context

Now then, And now for the important bit:

The objective was not “to do something with AI”.
Chinese to make it look like a real fashion film.

And that, consequently, changes the approach completely.

AI does not replace creative judgement

There's a fairly widespread idea that artificial intelligence “makes production cheaper” or “simplifies” it.

And yes, you do.

However, it also demands something more difficult: judgement.

Because generating images or videos is no longer the problem.
In fact, the problem is that they make sense.

En production audio-visuelle, cela implique :

  • Aesthetic coherence
  • Narrativa visual
  • Art direction
  • Rhythm and Language
  • Real product integration

In other words, without this AI generates content.
With this, campaigns are built.

What changes for brands

For brands, this change is enormous.

On the one hand, allows:

  • Adapt campaigns to specific markets without multiplying costs
  • Generate content faster
  • Test visual concepts without large investments
  • Integrate content directly into digital environments

On the other hand, It also raises the bar.

Because, if everyone can produce more, then the difference is no longer in producing, but in standing out.

What changes for production companies

This is where many production companies take a gamble.

Artificial intelligence does not eliminate the need for production companies.
But yes, eliminates those that do not evolve.

Value is no longer solely in “doing production”.
Me Too:

  • Understanding visual language
  • Translate brand objectives into effective pieces
  • Choosing when to use AI and when not to
  • Design hybrid solutions (run-in + AI)
  • Maintain a high visual standard

Ultimately, to go from being executors to creative partners

Not everything is AI (nor should it be)

It must also be said clearly.

Not everything should be done with artificial intelligence.

For example, there are projects where actual filming remains irreplaceable:

  • Emotional narratives with real actors
  • Documentary projects
  • Productions where physical authenticity is key

Therefore, the key is not to replace, but to expand.

AI isn't coming to take away the above.
Rather, comes to add new possibilities.

Where is audiovisual production heading?

We are entering a phase where the boundaries between the real and the generated will become increasingly blurred.

In this context:

  • The technique will become increasingly accessible
  • The ever faster execution
  • But, the increasingly important criterion

Consequently, the difference won't be made by who uses AI.
Chinese Who uses it well.

Adaptation is not optional

This change is not in the future. It is the present.

And as a result, there are two options: adapt or be left out.

At Mad Media, we are clear that being at the forefront is not a matter of trend, but of responsibility towards our clients.

Because brands don't just need videos.

They need visual solutions that work.

And today, that's what happens when you understand artificial intelligence, integrate it with discernment, and use it when it truly adds value.
